How To Manage: Sulphur Burps

Certain foods containing sulfur, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, whole grains, and dairy products, might cause an increase in burps and flatulence with a sulfur smell.

These sulfur-smelling burps can sometimes resemble the scent of rotten eggs.

The acid reflux triggered by medications such as semaglutide can result in unpleasant-smelling gases emerging from your stomach and mouth.

Rest assured, this situation tends to improve as your body gets used to the medication and acid reflux lessens.

Here are some extra tips that may also help with bloating:

  • Eat when you're hungry and only consume enough to feel comfortably full.
(It's absolutely fine if you can't finish everything on your plate)
  • Opt for smaller, more frequent meals with blander and low-fat options.
  • Avoid foods and smells that make you feel worse.
  • After eating, try to maintain an upright position.
  • Keep yourself hydrated, but try to limit water intake to about 1 glass per hour.
